Certifications in Finland (DVV or notary)
We confirm the notary and authority certifications needed from the document and the embassy's requirements. DVV's confirmation of the signatory's competence costs €27 per signature, and an original with a handwritten signature is required.

Ministry for Foreign Affairs (MFA)
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs legalises the signature of the Finnish official or notary.

The Embassy in Helsinki legalises the document, official fee €15 per document.

- Under the embassy's instruction of 24.9.2026 a Finnish-language document needs an English translation by an authorised translator, and both the original and the translation are legalised at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. We check the language and any translation need before the quote; translations and their certifications are priced separately.

An apostille is not yet enough for Thailand
Thailand's accession to the Hague Apostille Convention is due to enter into force on 28.2.2027. Until then the full legalisation chain is required, and even after the change we check per document whether an apostille is enough.

The package consists of our €100 service fee, the €30 Ministry for Foreign Affairs fee and the €15 Thai Embassy fee. Allow 3–7 working days overall from when we receive the original, plus delivery; processing times are not guaranteed. Official fees may change. The price covers one document on this route: translations, attachments, delivery and additional certifications are priced separately. The option without DVV's confirmation is available once it is confirmed to suit the document.
Reduced service fees may be available when several documents are submitted together for the same legalisation route. The exact quotation is confirmed after document review.

Legalising for Thailand in practice
O-A visa and marriage document packages
Most of our Thailand legalisations relate to the O-A retirement visa: the medical certificate and proof-of-funds or pension statements are legalised before applying. The other common case is marriage to a Thai citizen, where the certificate of no impediment and a population register extract are legalised.
Remember the handwritten original: DVV will not confirm a document carrying only an electronic signature. Where needed we ask the bank or doctor for a signed version, removing the most common cause of delay right at the start.

We pre-book the DVV and MFA appointments and visit the embassy right after certification, which is why the Helsinki stages are typically done in 2–3 working days.
Thailand's apostille accession is due to enter into force on 28.2.2027. We follow the transition and check for every order which route is accepted for the document.
