China's visa-free entry for Finnish citizens runs until 31.12.2026
On a Finnish passport, short tourist trips to China (up to 30 days) are visa-free until 31.12.2026. There is no official decision yet on an extension. Work, study and most business trips already need a visa. We will update this page and the China visa page as soon as an extension or an end date is confirmed.

China visaMongolia's visa-free entry runs until 31.12.2026
Finnish, Swedish and Norwegian citizens can stay in Mongolia visa-free for up to 30 days until 31.12.2026. If the exemption is not extended, tourist trips will also need a visa from 1.1.2027. We will update this as soon as the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces an extension.

Belarus has announced visa-free entry for Finnish citizens until 31.12.2026. The conditions, such as the entry route and the maximum length of stay, vary, so we check them case by case before the trip.

Belarus visaThailand's apostille accession due to enter into force on 28.2.2027
Thailand joined the Hague Apostille Convention on 30.6.2026, and it is due to enter into force for Thailand on 28.2.2027. Until then, documents for Thailand go through the full chain. After the change we check applicability between Finland and Thailand and the document type before using the apostille.

Thailand's visa-free stay was cut from 60 to 30 days
On an ordinary Finnish passport you can stay in Thailand visa-free for up to 30 days when you arrive on or after 15.9.2026. The date of entry is what counts. For a trip longer than 30 days, apply for a visa before departure: tourist visa 110 €, METV 270 €, Non-Immigrant O 180 €, DTV from 500 € or the O-A retirement visa 270 €.

Over 30 days in Thailand: which visa you needVietnam switched to the apostille
The Hague Apostille Convention entered into force for Vietnam on 11.9.2026, and Finland is included. A Finnish document for Vietnam now only needs a DVV apostille (38 € per document, from 138 € through our service). Documents that went through the full consular chain before 11.9.2026 remain valid.

Vietnam's apostille: what changedFinland-Russia land border closure extended until further notice
On 4.6.2026 the Finnish Government extended its decision to keep all eight road border crossings closed until further notice. The border has been closed since 15.12.2023. Travel to Russia goes by air via a third country, for example Istanbul or Dubai, and visa applications work as normal.
