Over 30 days in Thailand: which visa you need and what it costs

With an ordinary Finnish passport you can still enter Thailand without a visa, but the visa-free stay shortened from 60 to 30 days. The limit applies to travellers entering on or after 15 September 2026. What counts is the date of entry, not the order or ticket date.

Visa-free entry across a land border is allowed at most twice per calendar year. With an alien's passport, a refugee travel document or another travel document the situation is checked separately: tell us your document and we find out whether you need a visa.

If the holiday lasts more than 30 days, the visa is applied for before departure. The tourist visa costs 110 € from us and processing takes up to 7 working days. There is no rush option, so start the application as soon as the travel dates are known.

If you travel to Thailand several times, the multiple-entry tourist visa METV (270 €) saves separate applications. We tell you which one fits your plans and handle the application through to the visa decision.

The Non-Immigrant O visa (180 €) is a single-entry visa for a longer stay, for example visiting family. The O-A retirement visa (270 € in total, including the consular visa fee and our visa service) is a one-year multiple-entry visa for those aged 50 and over planning a long-term stay.

The DTV (Destination Thailand Visa, from 500 €) is a five-year visa for remote workers, digital nomads and participants in long courses, and each stay can last up to 180 days. Tell us the purpose and length of the trip and we pick the right type.

Do not book non-refundable tickets before the visa type is clear: the 30-day limit is counted from the date of entry, and the wrong type means a new application. We usually reply within one working day.
