Country requirement

Why a power of attorney needs the full chain for the UAE

A power of attorney lets you handle property, inheritance and company matters in the destination country without travelling there yourself. The UAE is not a member of the Hague Apostille Convention, so an apostille alone is not accepted. The document goes through the full consular chain: attestation in Finland, MFA legalisation, embassy legalisation and confirmation by the destination's foreign ministry. We handle every stage for you.

Process

How the chain proceeds for the UAE

  1. 01

    Notarisation

The signature on the power of attorney is attested by a notary public, the first and mandatory step of the chain.

  2. 02

    Ministry for Foreign Affairs

The Finnish MFA legalises the notary's or DVV's signature (€30 per signature).

  3. 03

    Embassy legalisation

The document is legalised at the UAE embassy in Helsinki (fee €39–511 depending on document type).

  4. 04

    Confirmation at destination

On arrival the document is attested at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFAIC). We brief the recipient in advance.

The total consists of authority fees (MFA €30 per signature, embassy €39–511) and our service fee (€100). You get an exact quote before we start.
